In class, we did an experiment called Popping Fun. The goal of this experiment was to try to get the right measurements of vinegar and baking soda to push the cork out of the tube and hit the window. We were able to use vinegar, baking soda, a graduated cylinder, a test tube, and other measuring instruments. The steps to this experiment were: first we looked at the materials, then made a hypothesis, then we put some vinegar in the graduated cylinder and measured how much was in it. After that, we put the baking soda in the small cylinder and measured how much was in it. Next, we put the vinegar in the test tube with the cork. Then we tested it by standing behind the line and QUICKLY putting the baking soda into the test tube and putting the cork on. Finally, we went back and recorded our results and tried again. In conclusion, this experiment was really fun and useful for learning chemical changes. Our group did fairly well, although we did not hit the window, and learned a lot. Overall, the experiment turned out pretty good.
